Ottosson has specifically formulated this matte/flat paint for interior applications.

Matte Snow White is a cooler white finish in comparison to the standard warmer Matte White.

Most commonly used on interior drywall or plaster walls.

Apply the Ottosson Matte Interior Primer as a first step on new, absorbent drywall, pH neutral plaster, unpainted wood, etc.

Do not use Ottosson Matte Interior Primer when applying the Ottosson Interior Paint over an old coating, especially over a modern acrylic or latex paint.

Generally, 1-2 relatively thin, even coats wil cover completely.

Basic Product Information:

Ensure good air circulation and ventilation when working with the Interior Matte Primer and Paint.

Do not spray without a quality respirator and good ventilation. Atomized particles can hang in the air for several days. Breathing in atomized particles is unhealthy.

Recommended application is a roller and a brush to “cut in” on edges, etc.

Mix Primer and Paint well before use. A stick mixer or mixing attachment for large cans is highly recommended. Mixing by hand is not efficient.

[Painting w/Interior Matte Primer and Interior Matte Linseed Oil Paint]

Bare wood, new drywall, pH neutral bare plaster:

Ensure surfaces are clean and dry.

Mix Interior Matte Primer well, mixing in any pigment at bottom of can. Expect it to be quite thin in consistency. Avoid overloading the roller.

Apply an even coat across entire surface. May dry a little patchy based on mudding lines or repairs if present. Dry time is 24-48 hours.

Mix Interior Matte Paint well, mixing in any pigment at bottom of can. Works well to mix a little with a paint stir stick and then use a mechanical mixer to fully incorporate and ensure a smooth consistency.

Apply an even coat of Interior Matte Paint across the entire surface. Dry time is 24-48 hours.

One coat of Paint over the Primer may be enough to achieve the ideal surface. If some unevenness remains after 1st coat, then a final 2nd coat of Interior Matte Paint may be needed.

Ensure there is air circulation/good ventilation for best dry time.

Existing modern latex or acrylic paint on wood, drywall, plaster, etc.

No Interior Matte Primer required. Only apply coats of Interior Matte Paint. The old coating acts as a barrier so a thin primer will not be able to absorb well.

Ensure surfaces are clean and dry.

Follow same rules as above when applying Interior Matte Linseed Oil Paint.

Dampen and dispose of linseed oil soaked rags to avoid a fire hazard.
